Central High Sinfonia Ensemble

The Central Sinfonia Ensemble is our advanced high school orchestra that includes 3rd and 4th year students from 9th-12th grade.

The Central Sinfonia Ensemble was established in 2020.  It is the top orchestra at Central High School and is competitive at the non-varsity level.  Students audition to become members of the ensemble and to receive chair placement in the ensemble.

The Central Sinfonia Ensemble focus on advanced technique, and perform pieces of extreme difficulty that prepare them for U.I.L. concert & sight-reading competition.  Additionally, students are encouraged to expand their musicianship and exposure by auditioning for local youth orchestras, including the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra and the Dallas Youth Orchestra.  Students are also encouraged to complete various district, regional, and state-wide auditions and contests to become eligible for a letterman jacket well as continue with their music education in college by incorporating music theory and composition.

Private lessons are a vital component of the success of our students and are encouraged as added supplemental support for fine tuning concert repertoire and extra practice and preparation of All-Region auditions, Pre-UIL and UIL contests, and Solo and Ensemble contests during before & after school sectionals.

Students are required to participate in Pre-U.I.L. and U.I.L. concert and sight-reading competitions and strongly encouraged to participate in All-Region auditions, All-State Auditions, and Solo & Ensemble contests.

Students also participate in local end-of-year events including adjudicated music festivals in the Spring and our end-of-year orchestra Banquet celebrating our seniors and the accomplishments of our Hillwood Middle School and Central  High School students, in the month of May.
