The Central Intermezzo Ensemble is our transitional high school advanced/intermediate orchestra that includes 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students from 9th-12th grade.

The Central Intermezzo Ensemble is a competitive ensemble. Students who are placed in the Intermezzo Ensemble audition for chair placement and participate in U.I.L. concert and sight-reading competition. Students are strongly encouraged to take private lessons as added supplemental support as they fine tune concert repertoire, and prepare for All-Region auditions, Pre-UIL and UIL contests during before & after school sectionals.

The Central Intermezzo Ensemble continue to develop musicianship skills, advanced technique, and complex pieces that prepare them for U.I.L. concert & sight-reading competition.

Students also participate in local adjudicated music festivals in the Spring and our end-of-year Orchestra Banquet celebrating our seniors and the achievements of our students at Hillwood Middle School and Central High School.
